I want to ask you about something. Yinhua secondary school will give offers to the secondary students in Changzhou every year. My son is in his third year of secondary school. He has been addmitted by the best high school Chang Zhong in Changzhou. However that could not vanish his interest in Singapore. So it”s a hard decision for us.
There is a program which is called SM1. The students will need to read secondary for the third and fourth years before they attend the O-level test. After that they will study in JC for two years before their A-level test.
Could you please help us to get some information about Yinhua Secondary School(英华中学). How”s the PRC chilren”s development there? How difficult is it for the students in Singapore to get an offer from the US universities? Besides, if he graduate from NUS or Polytechnic, is it easy for him to get a job offer in Singapore? How”s the pay? Based on what you know about Singapore, please give us some advice on whether it is worthywhile for my child to go to Singapore? 我在新加坡国立大学读书，很感动你对你儿子前程的关心。下面是我个人的一点意见仅供参考：
1.SM1确有其事，报名可能还比较抢手。来这后的学生参差不齐，有去美国哈佛、耶鲁的（从这走肯定比国内容易，毕竟是英语教学，英语高考）。但也有玩废的，读不了大学，回家生孩子的。能读到国立大学找份工作应该没问题，过大毕业生平均起薪12500RMB每月。
2.孩子适合出国不？主要看孩子个性。懂事，吃苦，有上进心，学习主动的就比较适合出国，而且国外大学比清华北大好的不在少数。宠坏的往往就会成为留学垃圾，抽烟、喝酒、上网、颓废，最后会产生国内大学罕见的垃圾。
3.再善意地提醒一句：从初中生身上看考不考得上清华、北大、复旦，是不太可靠的。高考之异常残酷是初中生和家长无法想象。不妨查查常州每年考上上述大学的总人数就知道了。还有一点，一般考上复旦的，都是有清华北大实力的，只不过高考发挥不太好就去复旦了，以此类推。总之一句话，国外大学的条件优秀是无法想象的，国内高考竞争激烈也是无法想象。而如果为了逃避国内竞争而出国留学，后果更是无法想象的。所以慎重考虑了。
4.最后一点那个沈老师如果原来是中国人，发邮件用中文应该没问题的。就算是新加坡华人，看中文也应该可以。
